  • Lazy Weekend

This is one of the rare weekends when I can laze around and reflecting on Life.

Very relaxing catching-up on some house cleaning and enjoying the peace with my choice of music in the background. Was woken up yesterday by JY and was wide awake very quickly getting into my "coaching" mode regarding Life like... " Need to keep all the balls in the air but focussing on a different one at different points of our Life"

At this point of my Life I am often confronted with the question of "What's Next?" Can't be competing with the bright youngster for a career.. silly isn't it?  But I don't want to take it easy so early. There is still much I can offer in terms of my breadth and depth of experience acquired from more than 20 years of working in different roles, different businesses and different countries and environment (East & West). The challenge is how I can contribute and value-add to make life better for individuals and organisations.

Maybe too much intellectualising but rather go forth and act! So let's see if I will be given a chance next week!

  • A Balanced Life

This is one of the days when I am not feeling great. I am not making great progress in my career any more. It is downhill and will come to a halt shortly (it is nearly the bottom of the hill). Then what's next when you stop.

How true from an extract on " a thoughtful thought". It advocates a balanced life in harmony with job, health, family, relationships and even spiritual well being. He likens life to a race with a spoon in the mouth carrying a marble to the finishing line. Looks like I fail miserably. Maybe the way out is to start working on the other areas and not just work and money. Let's see....

  • Another weekend

Was a lazy weekend. Woke up with intention of going to SZ but decided against it given the gloomy weather (also very humid) and up and down 3 hrs travelling. Spent a quiet weekend at home; reading my Peter Ackryod's The Collection and listening to music. Got down to DS to do some groceries and ended up in a DVD & CD shop.

I must say this is luxury which I haven't had the chance when back home. Kind of enjoy it. After all what's the rush given my stage of life now. I will see if I can sustain this when I return home.

  • Sustainability

Setting up a blog is easy but keeping it active is a challenge. This is my first entry since I set this blog 2 weeks ago. Has to be selective given that I think of lots of things each day.

Since International Womens' Day just went by; I like to share my personal views. Today young men everywhere (in the professions, corporate or even in the low level services areas in China) don't quite match up with the young women in intellect, drive, achievement orientation and relationships. One could attribute to various reasons like too much good life; preferential treatment (from parents and even societies), background (many girls come from better homes and upbringing) etc. This is causing a global problem where many young women every where are either shunning marriages or having difficulty getting a partner. This trend is causing them to continue to live with their parents and inadvertently putting emotional burden on them. Don't how we can solve this problem.

  • Getting Started

Ended up with this User Name. It was harder than I thought as earlier choices were unavailable. The clicher was FatDad otherwise Reflexion was also taken.

  • Hi everyone! I'm just getting started on Xanga... Drop me a comment if you've got some ideas on what to do first - or just to say, "Hi!"
